I turn wood at the lathe because I enjoy doing it. I enjoy the satisfaction that I get from doing something that I do well.  It is important for me to think when I make a box or a bowl it is going to be around for a very long time. I really like the idea of heritage - things that are bought today and passed on through future generations.

My woodturning has the dual role of being both "Art" and "Craft".

The "Art" of my woodturning is to create objects that offer an invitation to be held and whose simplicity does not detract from the natural beauty of the wood.

The "Craft" is in having the skills to accomplish this goal.

Usable Wood Turnings~

Wood Turnings that can be both displayed as  art and also used as a functional   piece are an added benefit.  Bowls make a great gift for  yourself or a friend. The bowls I make can be  used for everyday food use or just for display.  They are easy to take care of and will last for  years with proper and easy care.

Care & Maintenance of Your Wood Bowls~

  • Wax or oil all of your wooden bowls on a regular basis

  • Wash your wooden bowl by hand only

  • Do not let your wooden bowl soak in water

  • Do not wash your wooden bowl in the dishwasher

  • Do not take your bowl from hot to cold or from cold to hot

 Custom Bowls~

If you want to keep the memory of a tree that recently  fell in your backyard,  I  can make a  custom bowl out of it.  Please contact me at 330.776.8210 for more information.
